Terms of Use

Last updated 16 October 2026

NamkhaZoe is a free digital library offered by Dundul Raptenling monastery ("we", "us"). It includes the website namkhazoe.com, the library at app.namkhazoe.com and the NamkhaZoe apps. By using NamkhaZoe you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. What NamkhaZoe is for

NamkhaZoe exists so that students, practitioners and monasteries can study and practise the Tibetan Buddhist teachings. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial study, practice and research.

2. Copyright

The texts, recordings, images and videos in NamkhaZoe belong to their authors, translators, publishers, editors and other rights holders. Some are traditional works; others are recent editions, translations or recordings that are protected by copyright. Making them available in NamkhaZoe does not transfer any of those rights to you.

Unless a work clearly says otherwise, you may not:

Short quotations for study, teaching, review or research are welcome, with the source named.

3. No bulk or automated downloading

To protect the collection and the people who made it, you may not:

We limit how many books an account and a connection can open in a period of time. We may block connections and suspend or close accounts that break these terms, without notice.

4. Your account

You can browse NamkhaZoe, read summaries and preview the first pages of a book without an account. On the website, opening a full book needs a free account, which you create by signing in with Google or with Apple. The Android and iPhone apps open full books without an account. One account is for one person; please do not share it. You can delete your account at any time on the website (More → Account) or by writing to us. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep about your account.

5. Copyright concerns

We take copyright seriously. If you hold the rights to a work in NamkhaZoe and do not want it to be available, or you believe a work is shared without permission, please write to us at [email protected] with:

We will make the work unavailable while we look into it, normally within a few days, and tell you what we decide.

6. Summaries and machine-read text

Some English summaries are written or drafted with the help of artificial intelligence, and the Text view of many scanned books is produced by machine reading (OCR). Both can contain mistakes. They are aids to finding and studying a text, not translations. The Tibetan text, as shown on the page, is always the authority.

7. Videos and links

Videos are played from YouTube, and some links lead to other websites, such as the monastery's donation page. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

8. No warranty

NamkhaZoe is offered freely and as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot promise that every text is complete or correct, or that the service will always be available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of NamkhaZoe.

9. Changes

We may change NamkhaZoe and these terms. When we change the terms, we update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using NamkhaZoe after a change, the new terms apply.
